Present His Grace the L[or]d ArchBishop of Canterbury the L[or]d B[isho]p of Ely Dr Bradford M[onsi]eur La Mothe. Mr Rival. Mr Shute. Mr Stubs. Dr Woodward, Dr Marshal, Dr King Dr Hancock. Mr Baker, Sr John Philips Mr Nelson, M[onsi]eur Bonet, M[onsi]eur Hodges, Mr Vernon

1 The Secre[ta]ry Reported that he had Rec[eive]d from Sr Nathan[ie]l Lloyd her Maj[es]ties Advocate General a Letter, giving an Acco[un]t that Gen[era]l Codrington died on 7th april last & had by his last Will & Testam[e]nt bearing date 22d Febr[uary] 1702/3 bequeathed some of his plantations therein mentioned to this Society:then a Copy of the s[ai]d Will of the s[ai]d Gen[era]l Codring-ton was produc’d and read: Agreed that Sr Nathan[ie]l Lloyd. Dr Wood, Dr Paul and Dr Penrill be re-taind as Council and M[onsi]eur Peirson, as proctor for the Society in the Cause of Gen[era]l Codrington

20. Octob. 1710

Present Dr Butler. Mr Stubs. Mr Waddington, Mr Shute. Dr Woodward Dr Hancock. Mr Baker, M[onsieu]r Bonet. Sr J[oh]n Phillips, M[onsieu]r Tayleure, M[onsieu]r Hodges

1 The Secre[tar]y laid before the Board two papers sent him by M[onsieu]r Peirson the Society’s Syndic, the first containing the Minute of the proceedings of the last prerogative Court relating to Gen[era]l Codrington w[hi]ch was read; the other was the Book of Charges of the s[ai]d M[onsieu]r Peirson amounting to £63:10:2 the half of which is to be allow’d by the parish of St Brides Order’d that the s[ai]d Bill be refer’d to the Com[mitt]ee who if they are Satisfied in the several items thereof shall have power to direct the Trea[sure]r to discharge ye same

2 Agreed that a select Com[mitt]ee be appointed for takings care of the Society’s Interest in the late be-queathed Estate of Gen[era]l Codringtons and for Ordering & transacting all matters relating to the s[ai]d Estate.

3 Agreed that his Grace the L[or]d/ A[rch]B[isho]p of Canterbury, his Grace the Lord A[rch]B[isho]p of York the L[or]d B[isho]p of London and all other the L[or]ds the Bishops that are Members of this Society, the Deans of Lincoln & Peterborough, Dr Butler, Dr Bradford, Dr Linford.

Sr John Phillips, Sr Peter King, M[onsieu]r Melmouth Mr Edwards, M[onsieu]r Tayleure, Sr Nathaniel Lloyd M[onsieu]r Hodg-es Mr Trimmer and M[onsieu]r Chamberlayne or any five of them be that Com[mitt]ee to meet the first time At Lambeth on such day and hour as his Grace the L[or]d A[rch] B[isho]p shall appoint with power of Adjourning to such other times and places as they the s[ai]d Com[mitt]ee shall think fitt.

4 Ord[ere]d that the Secre[tar]y do wait on the Lord A[rch]B[isho]p and acquaint his Grace with the abovemenc[i]ond Resolution of this Board, and pray his Grace to add such other persons as he shall think proper to the Com[mitt]ee abovenamed & to appoint the time for the first meetings of the Com[mitt]ee.

10th Nov[ember] 1710.

Present the L[or]d B[isho]p of Peterborough the L[or]dB[isho]p of Bangor, Dr Robinson, L[or]d B[isho]p Elect of Bristol the L[or]d B[isho]p of Chichester, Dr Paget, Mr La Mot[he], Dr King, Mr Rival, Dr Mandevil, Dr Marshal, Mr Stubs Dean of St Asaph, Mr Shute, Sr Clement Cotterel, M[onsieu]r Hodges M[onsieu]r Hoare Sr John Phillips, M[onsieu]r Bonet, M[onsieu]r Nelson, Mr Tayleure, Mr Vernon

A Letter was read from Dr Smal-ridge to M[onsieu]r Nelson dated 10 Nov[embe]r praying him to lay his request before the Society that his Brother M[r] John Smalridge who was lately Employ’d by Gen[eral] Codrington in the management of his Estate in Barbados may be continued in the same: Agreed [that] the s[ai]d/ Mr Smalridge shall be continued by the Society in the same Management and upon the same foot as he was in General Codringtons time in case his Grace the President approve thereof.

17th Nov[emb]er 1710.

Present the L[or]ds the B[isho]ps of Ely and Sarum the Dean of Lincoln, Dr King, Dr Marshal Dr Waugh, Dr Paget, Mr Rival, M[onsieu]r Shute Dr Butler, Mr La Mothe Dr Hancoke M[onsieu]r Stubs, Sr John Phillips, M[onsieu]r Tayleure Mr Hodges Col. Lowther Gov[ernou]r of Barbados

The Secre[tar]y reported that he receiv’d from Dr Smalridge several copies of a Sermon preach’d by the Reverand M[onsieu]r William Gordon at the funeral of General Codrington (which sermon was Dedicated to the Society) and that the Dr had desiere’d him to present one Copy of the s[ai]d Sermon to every Member now present: Order’d that the Dr be thankt for the same.
