This serves to Acquaint you that I have received the Exemplification of the Society’s Charter; & shall take care to deliver it to the Society’s Attorneys.
As to the Conversion of the Negroes I am afraid it will be a work of great difficulty, in regard the Planters have not shewn that good disposition to promote it, as might be expected from those that profess Christianity: it is impossible to say anything to the purpose upon this [h]ead till I have discours’d with som of the chief & best Inhabitants of the Island,
